It remains to be seen, its not a supply issue, B&N makes like 500,000 nook colors a month at least, and this was before XMAS. They have enough to meet demand, they normally sell 5 to 30 a day per location, based on region demographics. Its not a shortage of the units, locations we spoke to say they sent theirs "overseas" and cited "nationwide inventory"
