I give my computers 3 years. I have noticed that once it starts acting up in year 3, I'll spend enough money in year 4 upgrading it, that I could have bought a new fully updated computer. I bought my last desktop on Dec 1st. On Dec 7th, my old pc would've turned 3. I say, close enough.
