Hay, everybody. I didn't mean to kill off this post!!!!

I'm sorry.

I was going to ask about frugal (ahem, cheap) monthly cell phone/tablet data rates. Not on the phone/tablets themselves but the actual price options for service. Trying to compare prices is next to impossible even when reading articles purporting to do so.

I'm not a texter or a twitter. I prefer doing my email from a real keyboard and large screen. I prefer the same when looking for ebooks. I might download small to medium PDF’s (manuals etc.) from time to time. I have a company supplied cell phone so I don't need to use it to make calls from, although I do use Skype for calls occasionally.

This is about a desire to occasionally connect to the internet while away from home. The company I work for will not pay for either the tablet or the monthly bills. If it's not very cheep I'll forget the whole deal.

I have a company supplied Toshiba laptop/tablet (about 2.5 pounds) with a Sprint 3G USB internet connection. But a 7 to 10 inch tablet would be a lot easier to use at the top of a ladder. I like the ipad a lot, but the price (and to some degree the Apple app restrictions) make it a no-go for me.
