I'm not sure there is one best answer (and it changes -- yesterday, a version of an autonooter for 1.1 came out) Given what I know right now, if a friend had a new Nook with 1.1.0 installed, this is what I would tell them to do today:
- Make sure to fully test the device and register with BN
- Use GMPower's new autonooter for 1.1
- Before you reboot, format your SD card (yes, the one you used to root) using the Nook.
- Test android and BN functions, fully.
- Read and ask in this forum for android setup tips, post install troubleshooting and get a nice working state.
- Download ROM Manager, install Clockwork, install a freshly formated SD card with at least 1G free memory, make a nandroid backup. Test restore.
