Then you have to worry about which SERIES to start with... "can I read THIS series before THIS one?"
Then if you bring the whole "Shared Universe" concept into the mix... you've got Canon to worry about.
I don't mind the occasional series... I just don't want to have to do an hour's worth of internet research before I make a purchase. Like someone else said... if I can't tell at first glance
where to start reading... I'm probably going to pass.
