I have lived in towns where people were ticketed for not shoveling sidewalks. I think that my homeowners association can fine people for not shoveling sidewalks in our area.

I don't have a problem with the idea of the fine. We have an elementary school one half mile from our house so the kids walk to school. The sidewalks need to be clear for them.

We have gotten lucky this year. One of our neighbors has a snow blower and has done our sidewalk when we had snow. It has been great.

I have been surprised at the lack of teenage greed in my neighborhood. I have not seen any kids out trying to earn extra cash by shoveling.
