Can't display Home page - User Guide Unclear

As a newbie please bear with me. I have a Kindle 3 wifi + 3g.

I have downloaded some books and organized them into collections. This list of collections now forms my home page (by default). However I wanted to use the Show function to see some information about my history so far and this is where I have come unstuck.

On the Amazon User Guide site, it has a section called Using the Home Sceen and there is a picture which shows basically what I get if I press Home and then Menu. i.e. A page listing my collections and in the Menu inset it displays:

Turn Wireless On, Shop in Kindle Store, View Archived items, Search, Create3 New Collection, Sync & Check for item, (greyed out View Downloading Items) Setting and Experimental.

This is exactly what it shows on my screen.

However under the image showing these options, the Amazon User Guide says

"Here's what you'll see on the Home screen:

Device name: The name of your Kindle. You can edit this name on the Settings screen.
Show options: Choose which types of content you want displayed in Home.
Sort options: Choose the order you want content displayed in Home.
Title: The title of the item.
Author or Date: For books, the author of the item is listed. For periodicals and blogs, the date is listed.
Unread title: The "new" label indicates the item has never been opened and is less than 24 hours old. Once you open a new document or more than 24 hours has passed since the item arrived on your Kindle, the "new" label is removed.
Archived Items: Downloadable items stored at Amazon.co.uk not currently on your device.
Sample title: Indicates the book is a sample. If you like it, you can purchase the full book when viewing the sample.
Progress indicator: The series of dots below the item shows how long the book is and bold dots show how far you have read in a particular item.
Audiobook title: The "audio" label indicates the book is an audiobook.
Pages in Home: Indicates the total number of pages in Home. Use the Next Page or Previous Page button to navigate the pages.
Periodicals: Select to access older issues of newspapers and magazines.
Wireless: Indicates Wi-Fi usage (or 3G if you have the Wi-Fi and Free 3G model and are outside Wi-Fi coverage).
Collections: Sorts content based on categories you create on your Kindle to organise your content."

This is NOT what I get, I get what I listed first and I can find no way to retrieve this Home screen or view these options.

I have set it up to use wireless on my home wifi and checked the settings and this is active. It is showing wifi at the very top right of the screen, and both the vertical bars and the battery I charged it a couple of days ago.

Can anyone advise please?
