We debated whether or not we should get the manager involved, but decided that -- with the way the economy and job market is at the moment -- that we would have felt horrible to potentially get a young girl fired over an accident like that. Jobs are hard enough to come by at the moment. You never know how managers / bosses are going to react, or overreact.

We were at a Golden Corral (buffet place) last year and a female worker got fired right in front of us. It was a very uncomfortable experience, not to mention very unprofessional. She was basically told to take off her apron and get out, right in front of a packed room full of diners. I'm sure she was just as horrified at the public embarrassment as she was at being fired ... that just wasn't the right way to go about letting someone go.

We haven't been back to that place since. It didn't leave a very good impression on us.
