It is very unusual in this part of the U.S. to not use an electric clothes dryer, even if you have to go to the laundromat to do it. I'm sure this will be shocking to some of you, but in lots of communities here you are not even ALLOWED to have clotheslines outside. (For the record, I am quite offended by that rule.) Those are usually the same communities that have rules about what color you're allowed to paint your house.
