Also the battery life is amazing. My ipad gets about 8-10 hours of battery, but sometimes I find that I am out of juice by the evening time when I want to read. The ipad screen doesn't bother my eyes, but I've heard it isn't good to read on it before bed, when I like to read. These are just a few of my justifications for an addition device lol. How many of you have both devices? How do you use them?
Hi! I have an iPod Touch, and an iPad. Just recently I got a Kindle 3. I would agree with all of your justifications! I use my iPad for loads of things besides reading {though it is a good subsidiary e-reader} and I certainly wouldn't be without it. However, most of my reading is now done on my Kindle and I really do find that it is much more comfortable for any extended reading and there is far less eyestrain. I do find the iPad advantageous for reading Manga and any material with full colour illustrations.

Perhaps comparing the two is rather like comparing apples and oranges. The iPad is a sophisticated media retrieval device which contains a good e-reader. The Kindle is an excellent dedicated reader which is superior in its specific area.
