Such rapid weight changes can only be due to water lost or retained. The only sensible way to look at weight loss is on a longer time scale. This is why many people advise weighing yourself only once a week.

I prefer to weigh every day (on a Wii Fit, as it has a precise scale and keeps an automatic record), but I don't pay any attention to day-to-day changes. But I do look at the trend over the past week, two weeks, month, to make sure things are going to plan.
