They stopped selling them online, but I found one at Target for $34. It cost an extra 8 bucks overall, but it's really the best case if you want something simple with no goofy stuff around the edges.
That was for a gift Kindle. I've had my amazon non-lighted cover for 8 or 9 months, no problem at all.
Maybe fingernail polish would suffice to cover any exposed metal, on the rail hooks. The issue I've heard about sounds like unintended shorting of something eletrical inside that the lower hook is contacting. Is this the "problem" people are referring to?
