I don't believe 'anything' on the web is definitive. Anybody can put up any information they want, hence the my statement that we can always find two completely opposing answers to the same question.

The article doesn't say that it's a Vit. A overdose, but a beta carotene overdose.

Right. There is absolutely no doubt that Vit A overdose is not only possible, but easily caused! I was saying that there can be a problem with Beta Carotene overdose, which this article confims. (If, in fact, this article is accurate. )

The body is always seeking homeostasis and if the body is turning more beta carotene into Vit A, it is autointoxicating itself, which would mean there is another problem at play that needs to be looked into, like an allergy or compromised immune system.

Yes, my point exactly. One paragraph of that page discusses the allergic reaction.
I used to take a lot of vitamins until I figured that if my diet was correct, I really didn't need any extra supplements. Living on pizza, french fries, an beer is not a particularly vitamin enriched diet, but if that's just one meal during the week and the rest of the time there are plenty of fresh veggies, and a bit of meat, fish, poultry, and dairy products, that the body should be getting all it can use. No sense spending money just to pee it away. It's been a while since anyone in the US, the UK, or Europe has developed scurvy or beri-beri other than street people.
