This is my objection to people who push exercise as the way to lose weight. It works really well, so long as you also, in some way, eat less than you want to.

So why not skip the exercise and go straight to the second step?

If I feel a bit hungry just before lunch, and a bit hungry just before dinner, and go to bed feeling that I could manage a snack, then I'm doing things right.

If, however, I eat more, and snack, so that I don't ever feel hungry throughout the day, and feel slightly more than satisfied after meals, then I'm doing things wrong.

And how's my weight loss going? Well, I've /still/ got six to seven pounds to go. Another couple of months, hopefully.
