I'm curious..specifically what app/context are you talking about here?
Do you have an external keyboard? I find that it's damn near impossible to type on the touch screen for very long.
something else kind of related to the rest of your post is , I think, the way everything in the ipad is very walled off - apps from apps - and apps from the larger non-apple ecosystem.
I'm starting to feel this real aversion toward the ipad with all it's attention-destroying 'crapplets' and such...
