Most of the books I like to read are out of copyright. So rather than paid $20 a pop for printed versions, I could buy a Kindle and read them all for $139.
Indeed, the day I heard about the K3 I was in the process of ordering $60 worth of PD books from Amazon, so in a way it only cost me $80. (And in case anyone wonders, it was a couple of Abraham Merritt's works and one of Robert Howard's)
Still, as much as I like the K3, I don't think I could have stood previous versions of e-ink. The contrast is just barely acceptable with pearl (have to use a lot more light to read than a regular book)
