I have have a Sony 600 Touch. I found out that you can't transfer B&N drm books to Sony or any other reader that isn't a Nook. Fortunately I tried this with a free B&N drm book so I didn't lose any money.

Needless to say, I plan never to purchase any B&N books or any of their readers either.
B&N has licensed its DRM to Adobe and at the end of last year Adobe has finally released a new version of its software for e-reader devices that supports the B&N DRM. If and when manufacturers like Sony update their e-reader devices with the new Adobe software, those e-reader devices should be able to read B&N books.
