B&N ePubs use B&N DRM, but the B&N Reading devices can also read ePubs with Adobe DRM bought from other stores. These are the ones that you typically download to your PC using ADE and then sideload onto your Nook.

It is also possible to download B&N ePubs to your PC, but they can only be read there with the Nook apps.
