Did you completely go back to stock (both steps?) before applying the update? There were some reports that flashing over root did not remove apps but just the ability to have superuser permission. So button savior/softkeys would leave its onscreen toggle but not be able to run since it requires superuser permission.]
Ah, wait, I see you mean the Nook-supplied replacement for the hardware 'menu' key. Maybe its there so that the upcoming BN-blessed apps written by developers can make use of it. Existing stock Nook apps don't tend to use it yet.
