Seriously, we've got a wind advisory already here this morning, and it's supposed to increase during the afternoon. This neighborhood, and the whole metro area, for that matter, has a lot of very large trees and with this kind of wind we always see a few go down. Back in the 90's my mother was at home alone, recently recovered from a massive heart attack. She heard a boom and ran to the door to see that a huge oak tree on the lot next door had fallen into the street, directly onto a moving car. She called 911 and ran outside, and sadly was the last one to see the young man in it alive -- he died right in front of her. By the time I got there and they had extricated him and gotten him away, she was popping nitroglycerin tablets because of panic and chest pain. So now she gets very nervous when the wind blows like this.
Your poor mom, that's an awful thing to see It's good that she has an understanding daughter to go to if she's in need of comfort.
