This is a great idea! On visiting the page you link in your initial post, I notice that your link for Baen goes directly to the free library. I suggest that you consider three separate links for Baen:
  1. The Baen Free Library (which is the link you are using now). DRM-free books with no regional restrictions, that are also free (as in beer). These are promotional copies that the authors and publisher have agreed to make freely available in hopes that you'll decide to purchase newer works.
  2. Baen Webscriptions, from which you can purchase books that are multi-format, DRM-free, and regional-restriction-free. Remember that authors get royalties on these sales.
  3. Baen CDs at The Fifth Imperium: This site provides free downloads of the various promotional CDs that Baen has bound into hardcover books over the years. The books on these CDs are DRM-free, regional-restriction-free, and free (as in beer). The CDs and their content was made available by the authors and publisher for promotional purposes; downloads are entirely legal. Remember, however, that neither the publisher nor the authors receive any royalties from these downloads. Remember: Money Talks, so if you really like something from this site and wish to encourage the author and publisher to produce more like it, please go purchase it over at Webscriptions. There's no legal or moral obligation to do so, but money is a great motivator.
