Post Editing Feedbooks with Sigil

I have been using together Feedbooks and Sigil to edit and customize my own ebooks. They look great in Nook, Sony Reader, etc.

Create an ebook in Feedbooks (private use if you want), download your ebook in ePub format, and open it in Sigil to edit missing images or customize the parts and chapters or change the cover page.

In Feedbooks you can copy and paste documents from Word and edit the footnotes using the endnotes feature. Let's say you copied and pasted a chapter from Word contaning a footnote; you will see this footnote with reference numbers in the end of the chapter in the Feedbook editor, then go and copy that information, look for the reference number in the text, click on the yellow icon in the editor and paste that information, go back to the bottom of the page and delete the reference numbers. If you edit the ePub book in Sigil, you will see an endnotes section. They work very well in Sony Reader, Literati, Borders app in Cruz Reader, etc.

Just a tip: in Sigil the name given to the image for the cover must be the same name used to refer to the cover section (cover.jpg equals cover.xhtml).

If you have a document with several images that you want to add later in Sigil, you can save the Word doc into Web Filtered and you will see a folder with the images. Once you open Sigil, you can copy the images from this folder.
