While a lot of "dedicated" ereaders may be able to perform other *minor* functions, they are created for reading. My Kobo does nothing but display books, the Sony ereaders & Kindles may allow limited web browsing and mp3s - but they don't do these functions very well. Even with the limited browsing and music playing, these are still reading devices.

I'm not familiar with the NookColor - can't speak about that.
