Pomtroll, when you shop B&N you will have to strip the DRM as B&N puts their own DRM on epubs. Better you browse B&N and shop with Sony.

Contrary to most people here I have nothing to say against the Sony store. It is not as fancy as B&N and Amazon but has had everything I ever wanted so far for sometimes even better prices. When I shop using the Sony Reader Library the book will go directly into the Purchased section and can by synced with the reader in an instant. This function is very convinient.
