Oh, if you just want the calendar icon on your home screen, do menu/add to home or long press, then select application and find Calendar in the list. Then you can press the icon to open the calendar. If you want a calendar widget, do the above but select widget - you'll have your choice of HTC or stock Android calendar widgets (I just checked). Then you can get an actual calendar on one of your home screens, not just an icon that opens the calendar.

PS. Have you downloaded the full manual from HTC? It is definitely worthwhile to read through it.
