Watching Yet More Snow blanket New York City.
A couple of weeks ago, we got a blizzard that dumped 18" on the city. (And generated a local tempest in a teapot, as there was apparently a union inspired work slowdown by Sanitation workers, protesting city budget cuts, so snow clearance didn't happen as quickly as it might have. I believe City Council is still holding hearings on it.)
No sooner did the snow get mostly cleared than another blizzard dumped an additional 10" on the city. We were planning to go up to Boston for a long weekend, and hoped Amtrak service wouldn't be affected. (It wasn't.)
We were in Boston from January 13th through January 18th,
here, returning January 19th. Of course, it snowed in Boston on the 19th, and Amtrak service back
was affected: our original train was canceled, and we got a Northeast Regional local departing 4 hours later. That came from a local yard and left on time, but had problems en route and did not arrive on schedule.
Now we are getting more snow. I'm beginning to think it's following me around...
