Yes you do. As far as I know, you cannot read B&N books there. You can read Sony books on Nook though.

There will always be online stores where you can get DRM free books for all devices, regardless of the format, but let's face it: the biggest and most complete stores are B&N and Amazon.Whatever you buy, you must ensure that is DRM free and epub (or a Sony compatible format)
