Methinks a good pdf reader and a price range of sub $150 are mutually exclusive at this time.

If you have no EBR experience at all (as did I), you may not have a good idea of where your books will come from. Being an avid library book reader, I assumed that I would get a lot of books from the library. But as it turns out, the library option has gone way down on the priority list for me due to two factors: 1) limited ebook selections at my local library and, 2) limited availability due to long waits for the books to become available.

If you need technical books (IT, for instance), Amazon is your store. If you're just reading classics and/or novels, you have a wide range of stores to shop in (and many free books).

If you have a hardware preference and don't wish to be limited to a particular store, learn how to deal with option limiting DRM. Then you can buy the book of your choice from the store of your choice and read it on the device of your choice... as it should be.

Good luck.
