cfrock, I would trade my K3 for yours, since I do have a rather significant "click" and late at night that can be quite annoying. I've learnt to press on the very edges of the buttons to keep it as quiet as possible.
Durability is tricky with the K3, since it's not been out in the wild for long enough, really. I can only say that mine feels sturdy even after having been dropped a few times (when it was in a cover, though) and with the page-turn buttons on both sides, I have no immediate fear of not being able to read my next page.
Assuming the build quality is comparable to that of the K2, maybe the durability experiences with that unit will tell you more.
