Thanks for clarifying for those who are uninformed. Again, I have no reason to believe that the stock NOOKcolor will support tags if the stock eink NOOK doesn't. I don't see what the NOOKcolor holiday rush has to do with this basic functionality that hasn't been implemented in the eink NOOK that's more than a year old.

Making sure everyone's on the same page... the stock reader will not support tags even after the NOOKcolor is rooted. Rooting has no effect on the stock library. If you want tag recognition you need to install an ebook reader app.
