This seems to be a growing issue with the current generation Kobo. Is your device a Ko1 or Ko2?

If you believe the screen issue is not something you may have caused, then take the Kobo back to the vendor you purchased it from and ask for a replacement. Many Kobo owners with the same issue have had replacements provided when the screen has suddenly and inexplicably died.
