Rar. Stoopid computer. It shouldn't be the 64 bit thing (but could be), especially if it's not showing up even in System Profiler, the only other possibility I can think of is something wrong with your USB port. Sorry I can't be more help.
Ah well, at least you have your ASUS. (I'm on my ASUS netbook now until I get a replacement for the Mac powercord the cat just chewed through.
