Power off problem

Hi,

I just got a Kobo wifi a couple of days ago, I've noticed I occasionally seem to have a problem when powering off the device. Sorry if this is confusing, I have a hard time explaining things sometimes.

If I'm reading an epub and hold down power to turn it off, about half the time instead of displaying the cover in gray as it usually does it will instead be a white outline of the cover and the "Power is off" message will also only be the outline and fairly hard to make out. The whole screen will look sort of "glitched". If I turn the device back on at this point, any progress I made in the book I was reading will be reset. For instance if I started at chapter 10 and read until I was on chapter 15 when turning it back on I would start at chapter 10 again.

To prevent losing progress like that I have started hitting home before turning it off, taking me to the books I'm reading menu. If I get this error when powering off on the menu, instead of giving me a white and messed up cover, it instead continues showing the menu exactly as it normally appears, giving the impression that it wasn't turned off, however if I go to turn if off again at that point assuming it didn't properly power off, it will turn on, going through the whole boot up process.

I just wanted to see if this could be an issue with my Kobo in particular, or if this is a software problem, or really any ideas or solutions at I could try to get this fixed.

Thanks for any help.
