ibdave: it has nothing to do with being in Canada. It's something about your home Wi-Fi setup that's incompatible. The first thing to try is resetting everything:
  • Go into Wi-Fi and tell it to "forget" the hotspot for your home Wi-Fi.
  • Shut your NOOK all the way off by holding the power button down for 20 seconds.
  • Unplug your router for a bit, maybe 15 seconds.
  • Plug your router back in.
  • Turn your NOOK back on.
  • Go into Wi-Fi on your NOOK and re-add your home network.
If that doesn't do it, you're going to need to give us some details about your home Wi-Fi setup. What brand and model of router are you using, what kind of security are you using, what special options are you using (for example, with Linksys, using SpeedBooster is a problem, and with "n" routers, using channel bonding is a problem).
