Years ago, I went to a party at a well-known editor's house and someone started pulling books off his shelves. PR inserts fell out of each book pulled out. Turns out he was dressing his living area with free hardbacks that he apparently didn't read, and the books he actually read -- paperbacks -- were all in his bedroom.
