And it's not just the K3. No eink device should be without a cover or put in a pocket.
YES!! I can see a class action on behalf of everyone who has a cracked screen (the most common cause for an ereader to go bad, I believe). Like that tire commercial where the granny throws the tire through the window - if you could do it, they would have a hard time holding you liable!
