I'm with you 100%. Hitting is NEVER OK. If you hit someone, expect to be hit back, and often hit back much harder than you expected.
That said, there are times when hitting is required. Just do so being aware of the consequences. At the least, you'll get hit back. Mid-problem... you'll go to jail. (It ain't the movies out there.) And at worst, you will get severely broken. Almost all men really believe that they are the World's Best Fighter, but the facts prove otherwise. Fighting is a skill, just like basketball, and if you don't practice three times a week, your team loses.
