Multiple metadata to ebook

I'm not a programmer and have zero understanding of what it would take to create such a feature, but I'm wondering if it would be possible to have Calibre create an ebook with the metadata from an entire library of ebooks. A TOC would be nice, preferably by Author.

I have a large library and often find myself away from home and laptop with a desire to browse through the books I have, read some summaries and choose what to read next. I'd love to be able to do this right on on my reader.

Any chance?
