Although I can't picture a Kindle owner ever allowing it, I'm not sure a dog licking the Kindle (especially on the back) is going to do anything to it. At least they didn't show the dog carrying it in its mouth!

don't worry your pretty little head about it. when people get their kindles they see exactly what they have invested in and treat that investment accordingly. my kindle has gone off the seat of my car quite a few times in traffic, it always hits the floor before the dash. no harm no foul
