@curstpriest: Great video

Now I just need to find some tape that's small enough...
I think it's pretty annoying that Amazon have not yet updated the DX to the Kindle 3's firmware -- after all, the DX is the far more expensive model and should really be the more advanced. I don't see why it should be very difficult to port the 3's firmware, since the only modification necessary would be to change the resolution and remap a few buttons.
I've noticed that my first annoyances have only scratched the surface: The web browser, which I only use for Wikipedia, is much, much slower than the Kindle 3's, to such an extent that it really isn't usable (only tried over GPRS, though, so I'm still hopeful). PDF viewing really ought to be as good as the Kindle 3's, which, in contrast to the DX, supports highlighting, annotations and dictionary lookup. Considering the DX's obvious merits as a PDF reader due to the larger screen, these limitations are especially unnerving.
I'm sure most of you know this already. Does anyone know whether Amazon is planning to update the DX soon? I'm very pleased with the device, but the software niggles just seem so unnecessary when it's obvious they could be done better.
