large screen reader for pdfs

Hi All,
I'm looking at reading pdfs only (but maybe doc files but not important and easily converted to pdf). Mainly multiple column scientific papers and some text books, technical manuals etc.
None of the pdfs I current have use DRM protection. And colour although nice is not a major concern.

So at the moment I'm trying to decide between the Kindle DX and the Pocketbook 902 ... I'd prefer the pocket book due the the extra flexibility it appear to provide but the Kindle has the pearl display - is there a significant difference between the displays?

is there a clear winner for my use between these two readers, or another I should also consider.

Thanks
