Peach Yogurt smoothie and a pot of Rooibos Ginger with a bag of Planters NUT-rition.
Caffeine calms me down and helps me focus but too much makes me sleepy. Tea tends to have the right amount of caffeine for me and dropping from higher caffeine teas in the morning/early afternoon to less caffeine in the afternoon/evening works best for me.
Stitchawl: I have just started trying the Pu-erh teas and the ones I have had, only two, have been good. They are distinctive but very robust and earthy. Not bad earthy but similar to how Sencha and Bancha have a more grassy taste to them, Pu-erh have a more earthy taste to them. It is like you can tell something about the region that they are grown in based on the flavor of the tea.
If you like Keemun my guess is you will like Pu-erh. It is very similar, although very different. The Keemun has that strong I am drinking tea taste to it. You can tell that it hasn't been infused or played with. It tastes natural, strong, a bit earthy. Pu-erh is a step up from Keemun.
I am looking forward to trying different varities when I can order some more until March. I ordered all of my hubby's Christmas gifts, plus my teas, plus other stuff and need to get the credit card balance back to zero. When I do that I am planning on hitting Rishi's website pretty hard, they had a ton of Pu-erhs listed and have a good reputation.
I think that if you are a tea person who is enjoys the taste of tea and does not need a ton of the other stuff you will enjoy Pu-erh but it does take a few tries to become comfortable with it because it is different.
I alos like that I can resteep it two or three times. The second cup is actually better then the first cup. I am using the Tuocha, which are pressed balls, and not loose leaf. The first cup tastes yummy but the ball has not fully opened up. The second cup tastes great because the ball has fully deteriated so you get a more intense flavor. On the Rishi site they talk about being able to infuse one serving of Pu-erh 5 times because of the concentration of flavor.
