The question is: is there a procedure for restoring a Kindle 3 to working order using just standard hardware that will always work, whatever has been done to the Kindle with software?

If so, what is the procedure?

I read somewhere the claim that the Kindle is unbrickable because it has a basic bootloader that can't be overwritten. However, I might have misunderstood and the claim may have been referring to an earlier model of the Kindle.
