There may be some misunderstanding on your part as to the "internal" card.

For the IQ, the internal card is just a 2GB microSD card. That is it is the same as the external SD Card. It is merely mounted inside the unit. It can be removed and be replaced by another card. In my case, I swapped out the 2GB card and replace it with a 1GB card because I do not use the internal card for storage.

As I understand it and as Coredumpt-EE mentioned, the firmware and applications are not saved to this "internal" SD card, they reside in flash. This is why there is a limit as to how many applications we can install on the IQ.

This is also the reason why many of us root the unit and install a2sd so that we can use part of the "internal" card for application storage.

Hope that help.

Cheers
Thank you, I was misunderstanding. Not sure why it simply wasn't making sense to me, but you and Coredumpt-EE have made it much clearer. I appreciate the help.

(I did see how to install a2sd, and it was so far over my head, it might as well have had wings!

I'm a simple user anyway-a lot of books, a card game or two, a match three, and I'm a happy girl )
