How many people actually subscribe to the Kindle Magazines?

I was looking through there and many of them are pretty close to the newsstand prices $3-10 per month instead of the usual $10-12 per year subscription prices...

Are there any magazines that offer free Kindle options with paid subscription? There are a few I would like (Wired, Bassmaster, Popular Mechanics) but are not listed there and/or the websites for them do not show anything.
