I don't know why you were given that thread info. As I stated, the NOOKcolor doesn't recognize calibre tags in any shape or form. You can create shelves and give them any name you want, but you will have to long press on each book cover and move it to the shelf. Or you can select a shelf (after naming it) and go through each of your books, one by one, selecting books to add to the shelf. You must repeat the process for each shelf you create.
I rooted my device, so I don't make use of the stock library anymore because it doesn't recognize calibre tags. The stock device will not meet your expectations.
