The 505 can only be switched of by using the settings menu. Using the power switch just clears the display and sets the 505 to standby state, which consumes power.
I'm switching the device off each day after reading which gives me a much longer battery life now.
Too sad, that this can not be configured so that using the power switch will completely shut the device down ... wayting for hack ;-)
