I have corrupted my office admin!

Our admin at work got a Sony for Christmas and I helped her get set up with some free books, a Calibre download and some written instructions on how to get library books and how to set up a Kobo account since the Sony store is a wasteland for the non-American. She gifted me, to my surprise and delight, with a Kobo gift card to thank me!

So today, I saw her at work after the weekend and the first thing I did was thank her for the lovely gift card---and confess that I had already spent it! So then we have the following conversation:

Her: You did? Great! Wait, already?
Me: Well, I keep a wish list, and then when I get promo codes...
Her: What's a promo code?

So I explain about Kobo and the promo codes, and she runs over to her computer and opens up her inbox. She asks me to come and look at this email that the Kobo people sent her five minutes after she signed up. It was a 'thank you for signing up' promo code. She used it to buy the Stieg Larssen book and assumed that was that.

Oh no, I explain. The Kobo people ALWAYS have a promo code. Just wishlist the books when you want them and wait for the promo code, and voila! I could see the wheels turning in her head.

That's one for our side! She's hooked now...
