0.7.40? 0.7.70? Kindle 3 support?

Hi everyone, today I was installing some programs on my new Debian testing x64 box and when I installed Calibre, the wizard didn't have the option to select Kindle 3 as a device (only 1 and 2). A bit of poking around revealed that the version that Debian provides is 0.7.70, while the webpage shows 0.7.40 as the latest version for all platforms (even compiling from source).

I remember having installed Calibre on Ubuntu 10.04 before through 'aptitude install calibre' and it did give me the option, though I can't recall what version it was.

So, in short, what should I do to make my Kindle 3 work with Calibre if it doesn't give me the option to select it as a device?

Thanks in advance for the help.
