Actually, if the 500 & 505 are actually OFF then there is virtually no drain on the battery. But, if the 500/505 are in suspend mode, then yes there is a constant battery drain however slight. So if you have a 500 install the power off hack and if you have a 505, t has an option to turn it off. I would suggest turning off the reader if you are not going to be reading from it for at least 2 days.
